Saturday 26th June continued Dedham. Dedham is know as 'Constable Country' after the painter John Constable. He painted many local scenes, which has made them famous. It's a great Tourists' spot. Despite this,Dedham remains a charming British village. While we were in the village, a wedding took place at the church. It was wonderful to hear the church bells. This is John Constable's painting of Flatford
You can read more about Constable Country Here Here are my photo's. We went for a pub lunch, where I ordered my first pint! After lunch, we hired a boat and rowed along the River Stour and up to Flatford.
Here is Uncle Bill and I, ordering a pint of lager and a pint of Guinness! ![]() Thirsty work all of this travelling! ![]() Aunt Sadie and I have lively chat over our pints
Walking through the streets of Dedham, I thought I'd make a quick phone call. I'm on the top of the door, but you can't see me very well. Some of the pictures look a bit misty, the reason for this? RAIN!!!!
There was a wedding happening at the church, so I got myself a good place in this tree to watch what was going on. As you can tell, it was raining! Again!! We finally made it out on the river. It was so pretty. I got lots of pics of the scenery and wildlife.
being such a worldly wise traveller, I was able to help navigate and row
I forgot to put on my wellies this morning. I should have realised it would end up raining!
More Rain!!! I took cover!!
I was so thrilled to see this Mummy swan with her baby on her back! What a wonderful way to travel! Swans can become vicious, but this one was kind. She swam to me so I could get her picture, then swam off again.
We soon drifted right down to Flatford. Here we are at the bridge.
![]() you can't go any further than this, it leads down to Flatford Mill.
Summer in England! ha ha ha!!!
We ended the day with a bottle of bubbly. oh, erm, yes, I was a bit inspired by the pretties in the bridal shop! And now I must pack up my Louis Vuitton case, my welly boots and say good bye to Aunt Sadie, Uncle Bill and Dudley. I've had a lovely week. I needed the rest and learned a few new beauty tips and ideas. I'm sad to say goodbye, but I'm not too upset. The best thing about my travels is getting to meet new friends and visit new places. It's lonely at times, but it's worth it. Bye for now.I'll see you in Kent, very soon. Wonder what Aunt Verena and Uncle Paul will have in store for me?
